PURPOSE | To define the policy and procedure by which a resident or fellow ("Trainee") employed in a graduate medical education ("GME") program sponsored by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas would be notified in the event the Trainee's agreement with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas would not renewed or trainee will not be promoted. |

SCOPE | This policy applies to all Trainees who are employed in approved graduate medical education training programs sponsored by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. | ||
PROVISIONS | In an instance that it is decided that a Trainee's agreement will not be renewed or the trainee will not be promoted, the GME office will see that the respective program provides the Trainee with a written notice of intent not to renew the agreement or not to promote the trainee no later than four (4) months prior to the end of the Trainee's current agreement. If the reason for non-renewal or non-promotion occurs within the four (4) month period prior to the end of the agreement, the GME office will see that the respective program will provide the Trainee with as much written notice as circumstances will allow prior to the end of the agreement. |
